PERMIT RENEWAL APPLICATION
Pursuant to the "Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act" and the "Clean Streams Law" notice is hereby given that Cornwall Mining, LLC, 118 Springwood Drive, Suite 300, Lebanon, PA 17042 has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to renew NPDES permit PA0223646. The NPDES permit is associated with the existing Large Noncoal Surface Mining Permit # 38950301. The mine site is located in Cornwall Borough, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, and is known as the Cornwall Stone Operation. The quarry is situated east of Burd Coleman Village, south of Burd Coleman Road and west of Rexmont Road. The Lebanon PA, U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map contains the area described. The SMP is 3.4 inches north and 5.6 inches west from the bottom right corner of the map. The receiving stream is an Unnamed Tributary to Snitz Creek. No changes are proposed to discharge rate or water quality.
A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Lebanon County Conservation District 2120 Cornwall Rd # 5, Lebanon, PA 17042 Monday -Friday between 7:30am-4:00pm. Written comments, objections, or a request for an informal conference or public hearing may be submitted to the PA Department of Environmental Protection, Pottsville District Office; 5 West Laurel Blvd., Pottsville, PA, 17901-2522 by October 5, 2025; and must include the person's name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection(s).
