Pre-Qualification for General Contractors
Southwestern Community College is accepting proposals from General Contractors for the Southwestern Community College Firearms Training Facility proposed to be located in Franklin, NC until July 1, 2026 at 3pm. Submission shall be electronic, submitted to dgoldsmith@clarknexsen.com . This project is a new precast concrete building to house an indoor 12-lane, 50-yard firing range as well as ancillary program components. The building will be approximately 12,000 square feet. The new work has an estimated construction budget of $7,500,000. Formal bidding of the project is scheduled to begin at the end of August. We anticipate notifying the lowest responsible bidder no later than September 29, 2026.
All proposals must demonstrate compliance with all aspects of North Carolina law and North Carolina State Construction Office policy, including MBE, verification and other requirements. The Pre-qualification Procedures adopted by the North Carolina State Construction Office (State of NC Prequalification Policy) will be employed in this process. Prospective General Contractors shall complete the 'Prime Contractor Prequalification Form' and will be scored according to the 'Prime Contractor Prequalification Ratings Matrix'. The owner retains the unqualified right to reject any and all submittals. Please contact the architect below to obtain the prequalification package.
