PROCEEDINGS OF THE WOOD COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
June 23, 2026 – 9:30 a.m.
The Wood County Board of Supervisors, composed of nineteen members convened in the Wood County Boardroom at the Courthouse in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin on May 19, 2026.
Chairman Pliml called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.
Supervisors present: Breu, Buttke, Casper, Clendenning, Goldberg, Hamilton, Hovendick, Leichtnam, Penzkover, Perlock, Polach, Pliml, Rozar, Schulz, Thao, Voight, and Zurfluh.
Excused were Hahn & Valenstein
Supervisor Schulz gave the invocation led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Hamilton/Breu to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried by voice vote.
Motion by Zurfluh/Voight to the following appointment: Board of Adjustments – 3-year term: Tom Nieman, Dan Forbes, Bill Winch (Alternate #2)
The referrals were noted.

RESOLUTION 26-6-1

INTENT & SYNOPSIS: A resolution to support sustainable state funding for local public health departments.
FISCAL NOTE: None
Motion by Rozar/Buttke to adopt Resolution 26-6-1. Motion carried unanimously. Excused were Hahn & Valenstein.
RESOLUTION 26-6-2
Introduced by: Operations Committee
INTENT & SYNOPSIS: To provide funding to the Marshfield Fairgrounds Commission for the specific purpose of funding the improvement, maintenance, repair and operation of the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
FISCAL NOTE: The resolution is requesting $25,000 per year for a 5- year period, totaling $125,000.
Motion by Hamilton/Schulz to adopt Resolution 26-6-2. Motion carried. Voting no was Clendenning. Excused were Hahn & Valenstein.
Chair Pliml noted that the next resolution, referring to the sale of tax-deeded property, in the packet did not need to be acted on. Without objection, the item was pulled from consideration.

RESOLUTION 26-6-3

INTENT & SYNOPSIS: Approve an amendment to the Town of Lincoln Official Zoning Ordinance.
FISCAL NOTE: No cost to Wood County
Motion by Leichtnam/Hamilton to adopt Resolution 26-6-3. Motion carried unanimously. Excused were Hahn & Valenstein.

RESOLUTION 26-6-4

INTENT & SYNOPSIS: Releasing excess public right-of-way due to County Trunk Highway BB Project road-relocation.
FISCAL NOTE: Nominal. There may be a fee associated with filings or providing notice to the public and adjacent property owners, but any funds needed are contained within the budget.
Motion by Schulz/Breu to adopt Resolution 26-6-4. Motion carried unanimously. Excused were Hahn & Valenstein.

INTENT & SYNOPSIS: To amend the Wood County Forest 15-Year Comprehensive Land Use Plan (2021-2035), due to proposed modifications to the County Forest Blocking Boundaries.
FISCAL NOTE: No cost to Wood County
Motion by Breu/Zurfluh to adopt Resolution 26-6-5. Motion carried unanimously. Excused were Hahn & Valenstein.

Without objection, Chairman Pliml adjourned the meeting at 9:47 AM. Next scheduled county board meeting is July 28, 2026.
