Program of Projects
The Rockford Mass Transit District (RMTD) wishes to announce its Program of Projects as a requirement in applying for Federal funds for Fiscal Year 2026.
Using 5307 Federal Funds, RMTD will apply for Preventive Maintenance $2,439,537, Complimentary ADA $320,000, and Operating Security Service $524,000. RMTD will also be applying for Eight Fixed Route Buses $8,585,461. The total amount of Urbanized Area Formula Funds (5307) being requested is $11,868,998.
Using 5339 Federal Funds, RMTD will apply for Three (3) Medium Duty Paratransit Vehicles $396,000 and partial funding of a Fixed Route Bus $338,677. The total amount of Urbanized Area Formula Funds (5339) being requested is $734,677.
RMTD will accept written views, request for public hearings, exhibits, and all other pertinent information until 10:00 a.m. local time, Monday, June 29, 2026. Comments may also be submitted at the Region 1 Planning Council's (R1PC) MPO Technical or Policy Committee Meetings. Specific dates and locations of these meetings can be obtained by calling the R1PC office at (815) 319-4180 or by visiting R1PC's website http://r1planning.org/. The complete Transportation Improvement Program for the Rockford Urbanized area is also available on their website.
Barring significant comments or changes, this Program will be considered FINAL.
