NOTICE OF INTENT OF THE WEST LIBERTY CITY COUNCIL TO TRANSFER PROPERTY FROM THE CITY OF WEST LIBERTY TO THE WEST LIBERTY & RURAL TOWNSHIPS FIRE & RESCUE AGENCY
TO ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND PARTIES IN INTEREST WHO ARE ENTITLED
TO NOTICE OF THE WEST LIBERTY CITY COUNCIL'S INTENT TO TRANSFER PROPERTY FROM THE CITY OF WEST LIBERTY TO THE WEST LIBERTY & RURAL TOWNSHIPS FIRE AND RESCUE AGENCY A REGULAR MEETTING WITH PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY JULY 21st, 2026, AT 6:30 P.M. LOCATED AT 111 W 7TH STREET WEST LIBERTY, IA, 52776, CITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
You are hereby notified that the City Council of West Liberty, Iowa, intends to transfer property from the City of West Liberty to the West Liberty & Rural Townships Fire & Rescue Agency. The Property to be transferred is located at 109 E 2nd Street, in West Liberty, IA, 52776. The Legal Description of the Property is listed below:
A tract of land in the Southwest Quarter of Section Twelve (12), Township Seventy-eight (78) North, Range Four (4) West of the Fifth (5th) Principal Meridian, in the City of West Liberty, Iowa bounded and described as follows: All that part of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company's station grounds lying southerly of a line 50 feet southerly from, and parallel with, the centerline of said Railroad Company's main track and lying east of the east line of Calhoun Street as extended northerly, being a part of the property conveyed by Skillman Alger and Deborah Alger, his wife, to the Mississippi and Missouri Railroad Company by deed dated January 21st, 1856, and recorded in Book P, on pages 302 and 303, of the records in the office of the County Recorder of Muscatine County, Iowa, Excepting therefrom part conveyed to DeWayne B. Smith and Alice M. Smith by Warranty Deed recorded in Book 264 of Lots, page 1402, of the records in the Office of the County Recorder of Muscatine County, Iowa, and also except the following description:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 15 of the Original Town of West Liberty, Iowa, according to the recorded Plat thereof; thence N89°3130W, 325.74 feet, to the Southwest corner of Lot 4, Block 15 of said Plat and being the Easterly right-of-way line of Calhoun Street; thence NO0°0000E, (an assumed bearing) along said Easterly right-of- way line, 265.89 feet to a point which is 94.22 feet, S00°0000W, of the intersection of said Easterly right-of-way line and the Southerly right-of-way line of Heartland Rail Corp.
