PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE TAKE NOTICE that the Borough of Bellmawr has contacted the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection proposing to receive approval for the diversion of +/- 0.14 acres of land at Scott Merulla Playground ("Diversion Area") located at Block 79, Lot 2.01 in the Borough of Bellmawr, Camden County. The Diversion Area will continue to be used by the Borough as part of its municipal water system infrastructure. As compensation for the proposed diversion, the Borough proposes to create +/- 0.7 acres of new additional parkland (located at Block 1.02, Lot 1.02 in the Township of Deptford, Gloucester County) adjacent to the newly created Big Timber Creek Waterfront Park. Pursuant to (N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.8(a), a scoping hearing to obtain public comment on this request will be held at Bellmawr Borough Hall, 21 E. Browning Rd., Bellmawr, New Jersey 08031, on August 27, 2026 at 6 pm. All interested parties are invited to attend and participate in the scoping hearing.
