Public Hearing
The Franklin Township Board of Trustees will hold a Public Hearing on April 28, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in the Franklin Township Hall, 218 Gougler Avenue, Kent, Ohio to consider amendments to the Franklin Township Zoning Resolution as recommended by the Franklin Township Zoning Commission and the Portage County Regional Planning Commission. The Board will consider specific changes to the Franklin Township Zoning Resolution in Sections 202.05 and 204.10 which regulates public hearing notices, Sections 1202.01 and 1203.01 Establishment of Terms and Compensation, Section 423.00 Mobile Food Unit guidelines, Section 424.00 Medical and Recreational Cannabis Facilities, Section 601.01.B.56.E.4 Planned Residential Developments to a Conditional Use, Section 601.01.B.61 Data Centers, and Section 331.02.B.2 Data Centers in I-2 Districts.
The text of the proposed changes is available for examination at the Franklin Township Hall 218 Gougler Ave. Kent Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to provide comments and suggestions regarding these changes.
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Franklin Township Trustees will begin immediately after the public hearing.
