Please be advised that the Strafford Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the Strafford Town Hall, 12 Mountain View Drive, at 6:30 PM concerning the following applications and any other business that may properly come before the Board.
Peter Carswell is requesting a Special Exception under Article 1.7.1, Non-conforming Use of the Zoning and Land Use Ordinances in order to construct a 5 foot by 15 foot addition to the width of the existing deck located on the southerly end of his existing non-conforming home. The existing deck comes within approximately 42 feet of the shoreline of Bow Lake, which is up to 8 feet closer to Bow Lake than current ordinances require. The proposed addition will come no closer to the shoreline of the lake than the existing deck. (40 Piper Drive, Tax Map 22, Lot 13)
