PUBLIC NOTICE FOR PUBLIC HEARING
TOWNSHIP OF EAST HANOVER LAND USE AND PLANNING BOARD
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 7:00 P.M. the Township of East Hanover Land Use & Planning Board ("Board") will hold a PUBLIC HEARING at Town Hall, Council Chambers, 411 Ridgedale Avenue, Township of East Hanover, New Jersey, on the application of the applicant, 1st Light Sales Corp. (the "Applicant"), seeking a d-1 use variance to install new community roof-mount solar array panels that export all produced power directly to the electrical grid, which is considered a second use on the property, and requesting relief from conditions stated in Resolution No. 9-2002, at the property located at 300 State Route 10, East Hanover, New Jersey (Block 96, Lot 57), (the "Property"). Applicant is the solar company contractor and the owner of the Property is Public Storage Inc. The Property is located in the B-2 Zone.
The Application requires bulk variance relief from the following sections of the Township's Land Development Code: Section 95-55.B.(3) – D(1) variance for use. Additionally, the Applicant is requesting the following relief from a condition of Resolution No. 9-2002: (1) Page 8 – Item B, "Each customer will be given a security code which will be required for the customer to proceed through the security gate,…"The Applicant seeks relief from this condition and requests to not be required to install the security gate; and (2) Page 9 – Item C, "The rear (north) of the Site will be fully fenced with an ornamental metal fence…." The Applicant seeks relief from this condition and requests to not be required to install the fence; and any additional deviations, variances, waivers, exceptions, interpretations, de minimis exceptions to RSIS, modifications of conditions of prior approvals, continuation of any preexisting nonconforming conditions and other approvals reflected on the filed plans (as same may be further amended or revised from time to time without further notice) and/or relief that may be determined to be necessary during the review and processing of the application and/or based upon an analysis of the plans and testimony at the PUBLIC HEARING on the Application, as the application may be amended to include same as determined by the Board.
All plans, maps and other documents relating to this application including the Site Plan Documents are on file and will be available for public inspection free of charge, beginning ten (10) days prior to the public hearing, by contacting the Planning Board Secretary, Lisa Kiss via telephone at (973) 888-6021 or via electronic mail at lisak@easthanovertownship.com to make an appointment to view the application and supporting materials at Town Hall, 411 Ridgedale Avenue, Township of East Hanover, New Jersey 07936. The PUBLIC HEARING may be continued without further notice on such additional or other dates as the Planning Board may determine. This notice is being published upon the order of the Board.
