INTENT TO RENEW DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION GENERAL PERMITS
Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s) for
Small Municipalities Designated as MS4s
State and Federally Owned Facilities and
Maine Turnpike Authority and Maine Department of Transportation
Please take notice that, pursuant to 38 M.R.S. §§ 413 and 414-A, 06-096
CMR 2 and 06-096 CMR 529, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (Department) intends to renew three General Permits (GPs), #MER041000 for small municipalities designated as MS4s (expiration date July 1, 2027), #MER042000, small state and federally owned MS4s (expiration date October 1, 2027) and #MER043000 Maine Turnpike Authority and Maine Department of Transportation MS4s (expiration date
July 1, 2027). Coverage under the GPs is contingent upon the Department's acceptance of a Notice of Intent (NOI) form from each applicant once the applicable GP is finalized. The GPs will be issued for a five-year term, respectively.
Persons wishing to comment on the proposed draft GPs when available, may do so in writing via conventional mail, electronic mail, fax or the public comment webpage https://www.maine.gov/dep/comment/index.html. To ensure consideration, all comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the 30th day following the issuance date of the proposed draft GPs and must include the commenter's name, and affiliation if representing an organization.
