PUBLIC NOTICE OF STORM WATER DISCHARGE
Iowa Army National Guard plans to submit a Notice of Intent to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to be covered under the NPDES General Permit Number 2 "Storm Water Discharge Associated with Industrial Activity for Construction Activities" for public construction in Johnston, Iowa.
The stormwater discharge will be from site grading associated with the construction of a new Express Store located at Camp Dodge – 7105 NW 70th Avenue in Johnston. Soil disturbing activities will include the following: site clearing and grading, underground utilities, paving, and a new building structure. The project is located within the city limits of Johnston, Iowa and more specifically within the NW ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 36, T-80-N, R-25-W, Polk County, Iowa.
Runoff is currently conveyed to an existing ditch connected to a system of ditches through Camp Dodge. The proposed project will keep the runoff patterns the same as they currently are and will be conveyed overland to the existing system of ditches within Camp Dodge. This system of ditches ultimately flows to an unnamed tributary to Beaver Creek.
Comments may be submitted to the Storm Water Discharge Coordinator, IOWA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Environmental Protection Division, Henry A.
