Public Notice New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc., P.O. Box 77, New Enterprise, PA 16664, intends to conduct blasting for noncoal surface mining in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws at its Bakersville Quarry, SMP 4074SM12, 56090301, 56010301, located in Jefferson Township, Somerset County and Bakersville IV Quarry, SMP 65980401, located in Donegal Township, Westmoreland County. Blasting will be conducted on property owned or leased by New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc. Blasting may occur Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Warning signs will be placed at every entrance to the operation. Access to the blast area will be strictly controlled and may include blocking entrance roads to the property. Public roads may be temporarily blocked as an additional precaution. Audible blast warnings will be sounded as follows: Warning: At least more than one minute but no more than two minutes prior to detonation. A warning signal of three blasts, each lasting 5-10 seconds, will be sounded. All Clear: Following inspection of the blast area, a 10 second signal will be sounded. Adverse weather conditions, equipment breakdown, operator or public safety, or other emergency conditions may make it necessary in the interest of safety to conduct unscheduled blasts on occasion.
