PUBLIC NOTICE
The Channel Preservation Association proposes to chemically treat up to 11.86 acres on Indian Point channels of Lake Winnebago, Winnebago County for control of nuisance vegetation. Wisconsin Lake & Pond Resource will perform the treatment in May/June, 2026.
The products containing the active ingredients of Flumioxazin (Flumigard SC), Diquat (Tribune), and Copper (Symmetry NXG) will be used on nuisance species. Warning signs will be posted within 150' of the affected areas at the time of treatment which will include any restrictions relating to fish consumption, swimming, or water use.
The Channel Preservation Association will hold a public informational meeting on the proposed treatments if five or more individuals, organizations, special units of government, or local units of government request one in writing. The person or entity requesting the meeting shall state a specific agenda of topics including problems and alternatives to be discussed. The request for the public informational meeting must be sent in writing to the Channel Preservation Association, 5155 Chesapeake CT, Oshkosh, WI 54901 and to Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, 1625 E County Rd Y, Suite 700, Oshkosh, WI 54901 within five days of this publication.
