PUBLIC NOTICE

PUBLIC NOTICE All interested public and private transportation operators within Anderson County are hereby advised that Anderson County Disabilities and Special Needs Board is applying to the Division of Mass Transit, South Carolina Depart­ment of Transportation, for a grant under the section 5310 of the Federal Transit Act for assistance to serve the Elderly and persons with Disabilities. The amount of the grant requested from the FTA is $210,000. Services will be operated within Anderson County. This program consists of plans for a transportation program for the acquisitions of funds for the purchase of a vehicle to replace a vehicle already in operation. The purpose of this notice is to advise all interested transportation operators of service being planned for transportation to serve the elderly and persons with disabilities within the area and to ensure that such a program would not represent duplication of the current or of proposed services provided by exist­ing transportation opera­tors in the area. Comments either for or against the service by public and private transportation operators will be received at any time prior to August 15, 2025.
