The Town of McAdenville will receive separate sealed formal bids for the McAdenville Water System Upgrades project at 163 Main Street, McAdenville, NC 28101 until July 30, 2025, 2:00 PM local prevailing time, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids may be submitted by mail or courier. While there is an option to attend the Bid Opening virtually, hard copy bids are still required to be received. To participate in the Bid Opening virtually, email Lauren Rudd at lrudd@withersravenel.com at least 24 hours prior to bid opening.
Project 1 primarily consists of the installation of 2,600 LF of 10" water line and 855 LF of 12" water line using a combination of trenching and HDD construction methods, two 8" meters, and two 10" backflow preventers.
Project 2 involves the replacement of 7,130 LF of existing 2" water lines with 6" water lines, hydrants, service reconnections, etc.
A Pre-Bid Conference was held on June 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM local time. Information from the meeting is available in the digital bidding package. All questions related to this bid shall be submitted in writing to lrudd@withersravenel.com at least 7 calendar days prior to bid opening to receive consideration. Questions received after that time will not be answered or accepted. A Final Addendum will be provided prior to the Bid Date. Bidders are responsible for the review of any addenda for the project and shall acknowledge the addenda on the bid form.
All bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid made payable to the Owner. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 90 consecutive calendar days after bid opening except as provided in Information for Bidders. Bidders must show evidence that they are licensed to perform the work in the Bid Documents as required by the North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 87. The Owner reserves the right to reject any/all bids, to waive formalities, or to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. The Owner reserves the right to award a contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder or bidders, taking into consideration quality, performance, and time. Project 1 and Project 2 are both funded by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds administered by the NC Division of Water Infrastructure. Bidders shall be required to submit with their Bids affidavits of "Good Faith Efforts" in the recruitment of MBEs.
