Request for Citizen Participation and Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA)
ATTENTION: Citizens and interested parties with input on community needs and issues, and Applicants for funding from Lafayette Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Lafayette Housing Consortium HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME)
The City of Lafayette expects to receive an allocation from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the 2026-2027 CDBG and HOME programs. Because the allocations have not yet been released, the 2025 allocations of $621,908 CDBG and $744,594 HOME will be used to start the planning process. If needed, a contingency plan will be discussed at the February 25th meetings to accommodate changes in the funding available.
This notice requests citizen participation in the public hearings and meetings that will be held in-person in the City of Lafayette City Council Chambers. Citizens and interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing meetings to provide input and comments about local community development and housing needs, concerns, or issues. Participation in the meetings by all interested parties is encouraged and not related to subsequent applications for funding. Input and comments about local community development and housing needs, concerns, or issues may also be submitted via email to the addresses above. Input and comments about the proposed Action Plans may be submitted via email to the addresses below between April 15 and May 14, 2026. All comments received must include the name and address of the person(s) providing the comments.

Activities funded by CDBG and HOME programs must meet one of the Consolidated Plan priorities: maintain, expand and improve affordable housing options, support residents to become self-sustaining, improve residents' quality of life, or affirmatively further fair housing, and meet all applicable federal requirements.
