Request for Proposal Kaukauna Utilities (KU) is seeking bids to upgrade the existing three (3) generating units at their John Street hydroelectric plant located in Appleton, WI. The base scope of the work involves removal of the existing generators and gearboxes and replacing them with modern generators and gearboxes with improved efficiency, reliability and maintainability. Each of the existing Leffel turbines would have one (1) matching gearbox and (1) one matching generator for a total of six (6) new generators and gearboxes. More details of the scope of work can be acquired by contacting the owner. Site visits can be scheduled thru Feb. 27.
