REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES The Board of Education of the Valley Central School District hereby invites the submission of sealed proposals from reputable and qualified school bus transportation companies for furnishing student transportation services for the Valley Central School District for the following terms: A five-year contract (July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2031) Proposals will be evaluated using criteria developed within ten categories, consistent with current State Education Department regulations and allowances. The weighting factor for each category is shown in parenthesis after the description of the category: I) Previous Experience of the Contractor in Transporting Pupils (15); II) Name of Each Transportation Company of which the Contractor has been an Owner or a Manager (3); III) A Description of Safety Programs Implemented by the Contractor (18); IV) A Record of Accidents in Motor Vehicles under the Control of the Contractor (5); V) Driving History of Employees of the Contractor (5); VI) Inspection Records and Model Year of the Motor Vehicles under the Control of the Contractor (12); VII) Maintenance Schedule of Motor Vehicles under the Control of the Contractor (5); VIII) Financial Analysis of the Contractor (8); IX) Documentation of Compliance with Motor Vehicle Insurance Requirements (4); and X) Total Cost of the Proposal (25). The minimum number of points to be considered for an award is 80. Proposal specifications, conditions, and forms for proposal submissions are available by email request. Proposals must be submitted in writing in a sealed envelope labeled "Transportation RFP" no later than 10:00 a.m. on January 29, 2026 to Mr. Brad Conklin, Assistant Superintendent for Business, at the Valley Central School District Business Office located at 944 State Route 17K, Montgomery, New York, 12549, at which time all proposals will be publicly opened and read.
