Biotech 4 & 5 Maintenance and Repairs Project
The University of Massachusetts Building Authority (UMBA), requests that qualified and experienced DCAMM Certified Construction Managers submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) as indicated in the RFQ, no later than 2:00 PM local time on June 24, 2026, for the Biotech 4 & 5 Maintenance and Repairs Project, at the UMass Medicine Science Park.
This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is the first phase of a two-phase procurement process as set forth in MGL c.149A. UMBA, through its Prequalification Committee, is prequalifying firms interested in providing public construction services for the Biotech 4 and 5 Maintenance and Repairs Project through this RFQ process. The required Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is different from DCAMM Certification. All Construction Managers must be prequalified for this project. Based on information provided in the SOQs submission, the Prequalification Committee will prequalify respondents it deems to be qualified in accordance with the criteria set forth in the RFQ.
The scope of work consists of MEP/FP equipment and systems upgrades including air handling units, exhaust fans, hot water boilers, air cooled chillers and other electrical / fire protection components that have exceeded useful life, as well as new interior finishes. The project will upgrade building and tenant dedicated MEP/FP equipment, related systems, and interior finishes, with an emphasis on minimizing tenant disruptions
The Statement of Qualifications must conform to requirements set forth in the RFQ. The RFQ may be downloaded from the UMBA website www.umassba.org/solicitations on or after 12:00 noon on June 3, 2026.
