Town of Washington 405 N Washington ST Washington, LA 70589 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES May 18, 2026, at 6:00 pm Mayor William Dwight Landreneau called the Regular Meeting to order. The following council members attended: Erick Fontenot, Ricky Ducote, Rogers Malveaux, Tanya Doucet and Mary Lavergne. Absent: None. A quorum was noted. Public comments were made by Charles Jagneaux regarding Pope Leo XIV and his genealogy. Mary Lavergne moved to approve Council Meeting Minutes from April 20, 2026; all in favor and the motion carried. Ricky Ducote moved to accept and approve April 2026 Financials with Budget to Actual Comparison; all in favor and the motion carried Progress of resolving Audit Findings FY 24-25 was provided. Ricky Ducote moved to appoint Ronald Villegas "Ron Rona" as member of Fire District 3 board. YEAS: Erick Fontenot, Ricky Ducote, Rogers Malveaux, Tanya Doucet, and Mary Lavergne; NAYS: None; ABSENT: None; ABSTAIN: None; The motion carried Acknowledgement of the Mayor's appointment of Historic District Commission Members: Marilyn Smith, Warren "Skip" Holloway, Erin Edmonson, Karen McKinney, Angela Doomes, and Claudia Blanchard Introduction of Amended Budget Ordinance YE 6/30/26. Introduction of Budget Ordinance YE 06/30/27. Erick Fontenot moved to accept Resolution Declaring Town of Washington Property as Surplus and Assignment to LPS (LaMATS Purchasing Services) Municipal Surplus Property Program for Online Sale YEAS: Erick Fontenot, Ricky Ducote, Rogers Malveaux, Tanya Doucet, and Mary Lavergne; NAYS: None; ABSENT: None; ABSTAIN: None; The motion carried.
