Intent to Prepare the South Atlantic Division Regional Dredging Environmental Impact Statement for Operations and Maintenance Activities at Wilmington Harbor, North Carolina
We Need Your Input! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Wilmington District intends to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate potential changes to the operations and maintenance of the deep draft Federal navigation project for Wilmington Harbor, North Carolina to provide operational flexibility based on the best available science. USACE will be hosting public meetings to share information about the EIS process and to gather your input on what alternatives should be considered, which resource effects should be evaluated, and what available information should be considered when evaluating effects.
Meeting Format: There will be an in-person meeting as well as two virtual meetings. The in-person meeting will include a short presentation at 5:30 pm and again at 6:30 pm, both followed by an open house format where USACE staff will be available to discuss the EIS components. The virtual meetings will contain a short presentation followed by an opportunity for the public to make comments.
