VOLUNTARY WATER CONSERVATION PROGRAM
May 2026 – Oct 2026
The Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Water Department has implemented a voluntary water conservation program. Implementing these important conservation measures could help to avoid a mandatory water ban.
Please avoid all outside lawn watering (including automatic irrigation systems) use between the hours of 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
Water lawn just two days a week.
Residents living in odd numbered houses are asked to water lawns and gardens on Tuesday & Thursday only. Residents living in even numbered homes are requested to water lawns and gardens on Monday & Wednesday.
Water only when necessary. Please be aware of the advance weather forecast. If wind and rain are in the forecast make adjustments to your watering schedule to minimize water consumption.
Maintain your lawn at a height of at least three (3) inches. This practice will protect roots and retain soil moisture.
Install rain shutoff devices on automatic irrigation systems.
Automatic irrigation system owners are asked to check moisture sensor controls for proper operation.
Water Conservation items are available at no charge upon request.
Use water wisely!
Thank you,
Craig A. Crocker
