ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A PUBLIC HEARING will be held by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, in the Common Council Chambers, City Hall, 3rd Floor, 62 Civic Center Plaza on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 6:00 PM or as soon thereafter as the matter is reached on the agenda on the following matter: 141 N WATER STREET: INTERPRETATION Application for interpretation relative to the proposed construction of a 56-unit multiple dwelling on the property at 141 North Water Street, and whether or not the definition of "story" provide in Section 19-10 of the Zoning Code was intended to reference average grade. The definition reads: That portion of a building included between the surface of any floor and the surface of the floor next above it or, if there be no floor above it, then the space between any floor and the ceiling next above it. If the finished floor level directly above a basement is more than six feet above grade, such basement shall be considered a "story."
