Zoning Variance

Zoning Variance Notice is hereby given that the Marquette Heights Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on October 27, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers to consider the petition of Norm and Christine Ulrich, 729 Joliet Rd,, Marquette Heights, IL 61554 that they be granted variance from the following Marquette Zoning Code so that the fence posts and other bracing members can stay situated as to face the exterior of the property fenced in. Chapter 1, Section 4-6-5: GENERAL CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS; ALL DISTRICTS: 9. On all screening fences, fence posts and other bracing members shall be so situated as to face the interior of the property fenced in. This requirement shall not apply to a basket weave or other type of fence where approximately one- half (1/2) of the screening material is located on either side of the fence posts and other bracing members.
