ORDINANCE NO. 316
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE DUTIES & ROLES OF
CITY ADMINISTRATOR, CITY CLERK, MAYOR, MAYOR PROTEM, AND CITY COUNCIL IN THE SLATER CODE OF ORDINANCES
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SLATER, IOWA:
SECTION 1. Findings. Pursuant to Article III, Section 38A – Municipal Home Rule, of The Constitution of the State of Iowa, City Council has home rule power and authority to determine local affairs and government. City Council deems this ordinance appropriate and necessary to the City of Slater and its citizens, to promote health, safety, morals, or the general welfare of the community, and as identified by Iowa Code Chapters 21 and 372.
SECTION 2. Amended Section. The Code of Ordinances of the City of Slater, Iowa, is hereby amended by enacting the following provisions in Chapters 15 Mayor, Chapter 16 Mayor Pro Tem, Chapter 17 City Council, Chapter 18 City Clerk/Finance Officer, Chapter 21 City Administrator. A more detailed copy of the ordinance is available at City Hall.
SECTION 3. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. Severability. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such as adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 5. Effective date. This ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
