Adel City Council June 23, 2026 - Meeting Minutes AMENDED CALL TO ORDER The Adel City Council met in regular session at the Community Room in the Adel Public Library, 303 S. 10th Street, Adel, Iowa on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. At 6:00 p.m., Mayor Crannell called the meeting to order. ROLL CALL The following Council Members answered roll: Ockerman, McAdon, West, and Hawkins. The following Council Member was absent: Trout. Staff Present: City Administrator Vick, Deputy City Administrator/Finance Director Sandquist, City Clerk Erickson, City Attorney Stone, Police Chief Book, Library Director Jayne, Public Works Director Overton, and Parks & Recreation Director Schenck. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Motion by Ockerman, seconded by McAdon, to approve the agenda as amended. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. CONSENT AGENDA 5.a. Consider Approval of Council Board and Commission Appointments: Planning and Zoning Commission - Two Openings Motion by West, seconded by Ockerman, to appoint Stephanie Poole and Marc Riley to the Planning & Zoning Commission. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. 6.c. Consider Approval of Council Board and Commission Appointments: Board of Adjustment - One Opening No applications received – no appointment made. 6.d. Consider Approval of Mayor Board and Commission Appointments: Parks and Recreation Board - Three Openings Motion by West, seconded by Hawkins, to appoint David Thompson, Travis Pierce, and Dalton Brady to the Parks & Recreation Board. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. 6.e. Consider Approval of Mayor Board and Commission Appointments: Historic Preservation Commission - Three Openings Motion by Ockerman, seconded by West, to appoint David Sande and Anna Phelps to the Historic Preservation Commission. Consider Approval of Grant Agreement In Support of Dallas County Development, Inc. (Greater Dallas County Development Alliance) Motion by Ockerman, seconded by West, to approve the grant agreement in support of Dallas County Development, Inc (Greater Dallas County Development Alliance).
