STATEMENT OF COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS June 24, 2026, 6:00 p.m. Work Session The City Council of Boone, Iowa, met in a work session in the City Hall Council Chambers on June 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. with Mayor Casotti presiding. The following Council Members were present: Kahookele, Moorman, Hilsabeck, Williamson, and Angstrom. By Zoom: Hammer. Absent: Henson. Moorman moved; Angstrom seconded to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes: Kahookele, Moorman, Hilsabeck, Williamson, and Angstrom. Nays: none. (Hammer was unable to respond during the roll call due to technical difficulties.) The Boone Park Commission presented the Parks' 10-Year Plan, focusing on the future needs for City parks and cemeteries. The plan addressed the maintenance of existing equipment, deferred maintenance items, and the replacement or management of aging facilities, including playground equipment, roofs, and other structures nearing the end of their useful life. The Park Commission expressed interest in further discussions regarding collaboration with the Ames Regional Alliance and exploring potential grant opportunities for future park projects. The Council discussed scheduling a future meeting with the Parks Commission to further discuss the 10-Year Plan after RAGBRAI.
