The public hearing will be held at the Community Center, 201 Broad Street, Matawan, New Jersey. The premises which are the subject of the application are located at 5 Texas Road, Matawan, New Jersey. Said premises are known as Lot 9, Block 121. The applicant is seeking Variance approval to convert the existing detached garage into an in-law suite. The proposed suite is not a permitted use and therefore, a use variance is required under NJSA 40:55D-70(d)(1). In addition, a variance is required for the existing garage side yard setback of 5 ft. where 8 ft. is required.
