Notice to Bidders Blum Construction has been selected as the Construction Manager @ Risk by the City of Asheville will receive and publicly open sealed proposals from prequalified bidders for the construction of the Municipal Building Capital Repairs & Restoration project in Asheville, NC. Sealed bids will be delivered to City Hall Security Station (70 Court Plaza, Asheville, NC 28801) and then read aloud. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Project consists of the demolition and replacement of an elevated apparatus bay slab. Offices and rooms located below the slab will be demolished to facilitate the slab replacement. The reconstruction of these spaces is included in project scope. A portion of the building will remain occupied; occupants located within construction area will need a new office built out prior to start of slab demolition. This build out is included in project scope. The bid opening process will be as follows: Wednesday, April 29: Bids will need to be dropped off in the Formal Bid Drop Box located at the Security Station inside of City Hall (70 Court Plaza, Asheville, NC 28801). All sealed bids will be required to be placed in a sealed envelope labeled with the required details listed in the bid manual. Receipt of bids will officially close at 1:00pm – No bids or supplemental documents will be accepted after the bid closing. Bid opening will begin 30 minutes after bid closing time and will be publicly read out loud. The bid opening will be held both in person and via video conferencing. We will go systematically by bid package until all qualified bids are read. Any package not opened on April 29 due to a lack of bids received will be rebid the following week on May 8th at 1:00pm.
