Township of Medford Zoning Board of Adjustment
A Public Hearing of the Zoning Board of Adjustment of the Township of Medford,
County of Burlington and the State of New Jersey will be held on Wednesday, November 12,
2025, commencing at 6:30 p.m. at the Police Administration Building, located at 91 Union Street
on the development application of Brandon Whitaker for the following relief:
Applicant requests use variance approval to permit the operation of an 18-hole disc golf
course on their 15-acre residential property at 8 Hartford Road in the GMS (Growth
Management South) Zoning District strictly for hobby purposes. On weekdays, Applicant
anticipates no more than one or two groups playing a round at the disc course. On weekdays,
disc golfers would be directed to park in Applicant's driveway. On weekend days, Applicant
anticipates a range of 10-20 disc golf players. Disc golfers would park in the Applicant's
driveway with parking instructions provided on their disc golf website. No site improvements
are proposed other than the disc golf tee boxes and baskets.
Applicant proposes to host a disc golf course tournament four (4) times per calendar year
and will agree to limit the number of tournaments as a condition of use variance approval.
Applicant would further agree to limit the number of disc golf players to three (3) per hole or 54
in total. Applicant further has written agreements to permit additional parking on adjoining
parcels for the four (4) tournament days per year.
Applicant also seek all other variances or relief so as to permit the proposed disc course
hobby use at 8 Hartford Road, and designated as Block 908, Lots 1 & 2.01 and Block 906.01,
Lot 16 on the Tax Map of the Township of Medford.
This matter is known as file number ZVE-1234 in the Zoning Board of Adjustment
records. Interested parties may inspect documents relative to this application at the Planning &
Zoning Office in the Medford Town Hall Building, located at 49 Union Street, Medford, New
Jersey during normal business hours or as posted on the Medford Municipal website.
Any interested party may appear at said hearing and participate therein in accordance with the
rules of the Zoning Board.
