PUBLIC NOTICE OF THE MITCHELL COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION REQUESTING PROPOSALS FOR FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT COMPANY SERVICES

The Mitchell Community School Corporation ("School Corporation") is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified Food Service Management Companies ("FSMCs") to provide comprehensive food service management services for the School Corporation's Child Nutrition Program beginning the 2026-27 School Year (August 2026).
The selected FSMC will be responsible for the management and operation of the School Corporation's food service program, including, but not limited to:
• Administration of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program
• Menu planning and nutritional compliance
• Food procurement and inventory control
• Meal preparation and service
• Staffing, training, and supervision of food service personnel
• Financial management and reporting
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing school nutrition programs
• Marketing and participation enhancement initiatives
• Technology and point-of-sale system support
The procurement will be conducted in accordance with applicable federal procurement standards, USDA regulations, Indiana Department of Education requirements, and School Corporation policies.

Questions regarding the RFP must be submitted in writing no later than June 26, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. to the contact person identified above. Responses to questions and any addenda will be issued in accordance with the RFP.
Sealed proposals shall be received until 5:00 p.m., prevailing local time, on June 29, 2026, at the offices of Mitchell Community School Corporation, 441 North 8th Street, Mitchell, Indiana 47446, at which time proposals will be opened and recorded.
Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.
Proposals will be evaluated based upon criteria set forth in the RFP, which may include experience, qualifications, staffing plan, financial management capabilities, program enhancement strategies, references, and cost. The School Corporation reserves the right to conduct interviews with selected proposers and to request additional information as part of the evaluation process.
The School Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive any informalities or irregularities, negotiate with the selected proposer as permitted by law, and accept the proposal determined to be in the best interests of the School Corporation.
