IN MEMORIAM

Paul Ray Holzworth MD April 12, 2024 I am writing a letter of recognition and thanks for Paul Ray Holzworth MD who passed away in Des Moines, Iowa on April 12, 2024. I am sure I am speaking for many of Paul‘s patients and their relatives in thanking him and the good Lord for his expertise and caring compassion for his patients. He was very special to virtually all of his patients, and that is very understandable. I, Dr. Jim Bell, had the pleasure and honor of being associated with him since August 1963. He, his wife, Martha, my wife, Rosie, and myself enjoyed many hours of laughing together. His other associates, Dr. Ron Shirk, Dr. Kelly Bast, and Dr. Kathy Lindgren were also an important part of the medical team. One of them noted that Paul was a great leader and encouraged us all to look at what we did was an avocation, not a job. He supported many of his patients by attending their relatives’ funerals and consoling them. Another noted that he was an eternal optimist with his patients.
