PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSED CITY ORDINANCE The City of Daytona Beach Shores proposes to adopt the following ordinance: ORDINANCE 2026-05 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, FLORIDA, RELATING TO ADDITIONAL SIGNAGE ALLOWED FOR BUSINESSES; AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF ORDINANCES, APPENDIX G - LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, BY AMENDING SECTION 2-5 ENTITLED "SIGNS AND ADVERTISING DEFINITIONS", BY CREATING A DEFINITION FOR A-FRAME SIGNS; AMENDING SECTION 6-8. ENTITLED "PERMITTED SIGNS"; AMENDING SECTION 6-9. ENTITLED "DISTRICT REGULATIONS"; PROVIDING FOR LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS AND INTENT; PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTIES; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS PROVISION; PROVIDING FOR NON-CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR A TERMINATION DATE. A Public Hearing on this ordinance will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, commencing at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard, at the regular City Commission meeting in the City Commission Chambers inside the Shores Community Center at 3000 Bellemead Drive, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. Interested parties may appear and will be given an opportunity to be heard. Copies of this ordinance may be inspected by the public at City Hall, 2990 S. Atlantic Ave. during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pursuant to Sec. 166.041(3)(c), F.S., all interested parties may appear and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance. RECORD IS REQUIRED TO APPEAL Pursuant to Sec. 286.0105, F.S., if any person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission at this public meeting, the person will need a record of the proceedings and for such purposes may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
