NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County Legislature of the County of Chemung, New York, will meet at the County Legislature, 5th Floor, Hazlett Building, 203 Lake Street, in Elmira, New York, on April 6, 2026, at 6:55 o'clock .P.M., Prevailing Time, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing in relation to the proposed increase and improvement of facilities on behalf of Sewer District No. 1, consisting of the purchase of equipment, each item of which costs $15,000 or less ($25,000), and improvements to facilities of Sewer District No. 1 ($260,000) being sewer collection system linings, manholes, and related improvements, all as set forth in the map, plan and report prepared in connection therewith, at a total maximum estimated cost of $285,000. The estimated annual cost to the typical property owner in the District as a result thereof is $4.82; and the proposed increase and improvements of facilities on behalf of the Elmira Sewer District consisting of improvements to the Hauler Access Station ($50,000), replacement of facilities at the Lucas Street CSO ($245,000), and sewer collection system linings, manholes and related improvements ($180,000), purchase of equipment, each item of which costs $15,000 or less ($25,000), and purchase of a sludge truck ($350,000), all as set forth in the map, plan and report prepared in connection therewith, at a total maximum estimated cost of $850,000. The estimated annual cost to the typical property owner in the District as a result thereof is $8.34.
