Notice of Public Hearing City of Freeport RE: 5311 and Downstate Operating Assistance Program grant application to provide services to the City of Freeport and Stephenson County, Illinois. I. Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City of Freeport. Date: March 11th, 2026 Time: 4:00 PM. Room: City Hall Chambers Place: 314 W. Stephenson Street Freeport, IL 61032 For the purposes of providing continued transportation services via Pretzel City Area Transit to the City of Freeport and Stephenson County, Illinois. The project is described as follows: A) Project Description: To provide public transportation service via Pretzel City Area Transit to the City of Freeport and Stephenson County, Illinois. B) Relocation: Relocation assistance will not be required. C) Environment: This project is being implemented to minimize environmental impacts. D) Comprehensive Planning: This project is in conformance with the City of Freeport's comprehensive transportation planning. E) Elderly and Handicapped: All vehicles included in the project are accessible for both elderly and/or handicapped persons. II. At the hearing, the City of Freeport will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the project. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations with respect to the said projects. III. The City of Freeport requests that any hearing impaired person wishing to attend this Public Hearing notify the City of Freeport, Human Resources Department at 815-235-2065 at least one week before the scheduled hearing date so that arrangements can be made to provide assistance. IV. A copy of the 5311 and Downstate Operating Assistance grant applications for the proposed projects will be made available for public inspection at the City of Freeport Community and Economic Development Department located at 314 W.
