CITY OF HAGERSTOWN, MD APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE Notice is hereby given by the City of Hagerstown that one (1) Ordinance was passed and approved on February 3, 2026. The Ordinance is as follows: Ordinance No. O-26-01 – Amending the City Code by Adding Chapter 173-32, Prohibited Lodging Out of Doors. This ordinance makes it unlawful for any person to sleep and/or lodge out of doors in any public place within the City limits of Hagerstown, Maryland. This prohibition extends to vehicles parked on public places. Only Hagerstown Police Department law enforcement officers will enforce this ordinance. The amendment to this ordinance removes the sunset provision. The aforementioned Ordinance will become effective on March 6, 2026 unless petitioned to referendum in accordance with the provisions of Section 209 of the Charter.
