PUBLIC NOTICE
Pursuant to the Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act and the Clean Streams Law, notice is hereby given that Glen-Gery Corporation, 1166 Spring St., Wyomissing, PA 19610 has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to release bonding for Stage I-II reclamation for surface mine permit 4975SM5 originally issued September 5, 1975. The site has been contoured and seeded in accordance with the standards outlined in the permit. Bond release requested is $185,819 for 47.78 acres. Total bond posted is $185,819. The mine site is referred to as Alwine Oxford Quarry, with the access drive located 400 feet northeast of the intersection of Hanover Street and Brickyard Road in Oxford Twp., Adams Co., PA. The total permit area is approximately 103.92 acres. The McSherrystown, PA USGS quadrangle contains the area described. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Adams County Conservation District, 670 Old Harrisburg Rd, Suite 201, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Written comments, objections, or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection, Cambria District Mining Office, 286 Industrial Park Road, Ebensburg, PA 15931 by March 19, 2026, and must include the person’s name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection(s).
