Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District No. 3 is seeking sealed bids for one (1) Pumper Apparatus with two door Freightliner M2+ 106 Chassis and 3/16" Heavy Duty Extruded Aluminum body construction. Sealed bids shall be received by Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District No. 3, at the West Galliano Fire Station located at 135 West 158th Street, Galliano, La 70354, Attention: Master Mechanic Ryan Pitre, labeled "Bid on Fire Apparatus" on October 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Late Bids shall not be received or considered. It is the intent of this request for Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District No. 3 to purchase a complete Pumper Apparatus equipped as specified. The primary objective is to obtain the most acceptable apparatus for service in the Fire Department. These specifications cover specific requirements as to the type of construction and tests the apparatus must conform, together with certain details as to the finish, material, equipment, and appliances with which the successful bidder must conform. An as built Proposal Drawing, and Body and Subframe Extrusion samples shall be submitted with the bid. Delivery time shall be a major deciding factor in bid award. Apparatus delivery shall be no greater 120 Days after completion of Preconstruction Conference and signed approval drawing receipt. The preconstruction conference shall take place no later than one (1) week after award. No Exception to the delivery requirement shall be accepted. Detailed specification sheets for this unit shall be available for pick up at Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District No. 3, 135 West 158th Street, Galliano, LA 70354, or delivered electronically upon request. Unless otherwise specifically provided in this bid request, reference to any equipment, material, article, or patented process by trade name, make, model or catalog number in these specifications shall be regarded as establishing a standard of quality, and shall not be construed as limiting competition and equal products may be substituted. Equivalency will be determined by Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District No. 3, and the decision of Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District No. 3 shall be final and conclusive. This provision shall be available to the State of Louisiana and any political subdivision of the state, including municipalities, parishes, and levee districts, among others. The "piggyback" method is available, which allows for the purchase of materials, supplies, vehicles, and equipment through an existing public contract of another political subdivision within one year of the opening of bids, provided that certain conditions are met. These conditions include compliance with R.S. 38:2211 et seq. for the bidding of the original contract, the written consent of the political subdivision that bid the contract, and the identical vendor, product, materials, supplies, vehicles, or equipment at the same price as the original contract.
