NOTICE Please take notice that the Board of Supervisors of Swatara Township, Lebanon County, PA, scheduled a Public Hearing for Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., Swatara Township Bldg. 68 Supervisors Dr., Jonestown, PA 17038, to discuss amendments to its Driveway and Zoning Ordinance. Please be advised the earliest the Swatara Township Supervisors may take formal action to adopt the proposed Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance is Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the regularly scheduled meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. A summary of the changes include the following: 1) Modifying Chapter 21, Part 4 to add a definition for "Nonconforming Driveway," require residential driveways to be constructed to protect roadway shoulders and promote drainage, and provide design criteria for nonresidential, commercial and agricultural driveways; 2) Add definitions to Chapter 27, Part 1, to include "Light Industry", "Manufacturing" and "Self-Storage Facility"; 3) Amend §27-602(1)(N) to increase the square footage for a farm-related occupation use from 5,000 not to exceed 7,500; 4) Renumber §27-602(1)(N)(3) to §27-602(1)(S); 5) Reduce the minimum acres for an agricultural service business from 20 to 5 in §27-602(1)(Q)(4); 6) Increase the setback from any adjoining property from at least 50 to a 100 feet for an agricultural service business in §27-602(1)(Q)(10); 7) Repeal §27-602(1)(Q)(11); and 8) Allow such commercial uses, subject to certain conditions, as a conditional use in an Agricultural District under §27-602(2)(I). The Ordinance also provides for severability and repealer and an effective date within five (5) days following enactment.
