It’s still hard to accept that one year ago, you left this world to take your place with the Lord and rest in His eternal peace.
Superman is supposed to live forever.
Words cannot express how much we miss you. Our lives are not the same without you in them—a void that will never be replaced. We would give anything to have one more moment together: to see your smile, hear your laughter, go for a run together, bask in the sunshine, seek your advice, and talk about last night’s game.
The realization that these moments are now only memories is surreal and painful each day. These memories are your legacy, and please know that your legacy will live on in all of us—most especially your grandchildren: Zosia, Anastasia, Rhys, and Bjorn. Each one will inherit the strength of your convictions and beliefs, which will serve them well in life’s endeavors.
Also know, Grandpop, that they will inherit your unrelenting spirit and passion for life. Giving up will never be part of their vocabulary. They will all make you very proud.
Thank you for always being there for us. We miss you and love you forever.
Until we meet again, Superman.
