PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE (Note new date) PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE Water System Improvements Project for the Community of Talavera Tuesday, May 5, 2026, 6 p.m. Talavera Fire Station, 8500 Achenbach Canyon Road, Las Cruces, NM The Talavera Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association (MDWCA) invites you to the rescheduled public meeting for a proposed project to upgrade the Talavera community water system. An Environmental Information Document has been prepared to evaluate potential impacts and proposed mitigation measures of the project. Project Scope: Daniel B. Stephens & Associates, under contract to the New Mexico Finance Authority, is evaluating solutions for improving the water system for the community of Talavera, located approximately 4 miles east of the City of Las Cruces, NM. Alternatives for improving the water service are being evaluated as part of a Preliminary Engineering Report. The preferred alternative is to upgrade the Talavera water system infrastructure. Public Meeting Purpose: To give the public, neighbors, and stakeholders the opportunity to learn about the project, ask questions, and provide input.
