NOTICE
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that sealed bids will be received by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Chester Fire District at 7:00 p.m. on February 17, 2026 at the office of the Fire District located at 1410 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf, New York 10981 for furnishing of lawn maintenance at three (3) firehouses and fire district commissioners office. Specifications may be obtained at the office of Kornfeld, Rew, Newman & Simeone at the address listed below during regular business hours. Proposals will be considered both with and without pesticide and fertilizer application.
Proposals must be sealed in an envelope on which it is clearly stated “Bid for Lawn Maintenance” and shall be addressed to Gabrielle Guastamacchia, Secretary, Chester Fire District and received by her by mail at P. O. Box 612, Chester, New York 10918 before 4:00 p.m. on February 17, 2026, or delivered to her personally at the fire district’s office located at 1410 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf, New York prior to 7:00 p.m. on February 17, 2026. Bids will be publicly opened and read on February 17, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the fire district’s office located at 1410 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf, New York.
The award of bid pursuant to this notice is subject to appropriation of funds for this purpose in accordance with the applicable provisions of the General Municipal Law. All bids must meet the requirements of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York and all other applicable statutes and have attached a statement of non-collusion. All documents submitted in connection with this bid will become the property of the Fire District and the Fire District will not return bids or bid documents.
The lowest qualified bidder meeting the specifications will be awarded the bid. The Board of Fire Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to readvertise for same. Upon ten (10) days’ notice by the Fire District, the successful bidder shall execute a contract in the form attached to the specification. If pesticide application is bid, eligible bidders must have a current NYS DEC Pesticide License.
