PINE BUSH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING & ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF PINE BUSH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the Board of Education of the Pine Bush Central School District will hold a budget hearing for the purpose of discussion of the expenditures of funds (the budget) and the budgeting thereof proposed by said Board of Education for the school year July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the Pine Bush High School, Route 302, Pine Bush, New York at approximately 7:00 o’clock p.m. prevailing time. 2. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education of the Pine Bush Central School District will hold the Annual Meeting & Election of all residents of the Pine Bush Central School District who qualify to vote on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, between the hours of 6:00 o’clock a.m. and 9:00 o’clock p.m. prevailing time, at the polling sites designated below when the polls will be open for the purpose of voting by machine or ballot on the following and any other propositions placed before the voters: A. To vote on a proposition to authorize the Board of Education of said School District to expend the sums of money which will be required for school purposes for the year July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 and to levy the necessary tax therefore. B. To elect two (2) members to the Board of Education at large, two three-year terms (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2029). The terms of office for the two (2) seats that will be available as of July 1, 2026 are due to the expiration of the term of office of Kristi Kheiralla and Cara Robertson, expiring as of June 30, 2026. 3. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the place in each election district where said Annual Meeting & Election will be held on May 19, 2026 between the hours of 6:00 o’clock a.m. and 9:00 o’clock p.m. prevailing time, is as follows: ELECTION DISTRICT NO. 1: Pine Bush High School (Residents of the Towns of Gardiner, Shawangunk, Crawford and Montgomery) (Address: 118 State Route 302, Pine Bush, NY 12566) ELECTION DISTRICT NO. 2: Circleville Elementary School (Residents of the Towns of Mt. Hope, Wallkill and Mamakating) (Address: 2000 State Route 302, Circleville, NY 10919) 4. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that additional questions or propositions may be submitted to appear on the ballot in accordance with the Education Law 2035 provided a petition in proper form relating thereto is filed with the Clerk of the School District in accordance therewith no later than April 20, 2026, except those required to be placed in the Notice of Annual Meeting & Election. 5. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that a statement of estimated expenses for the ensuing year will be completed and copies made available on the school district website, in the District Office, via e-mail request and each school building in the district in which school is maintained between the hours of 9:00 o’clock a.m. and 5:00 o’clock p.m. prevailing time, during the fourteen days (14) immediately preceding the Annual Meeting & Election, except a Saturday, Sunday, or Holiday, together with the text of any resolutions which will be presented to the voters. Copies of the statement of estimated expenses and text of any resolutions will also be made available at the Budget Hearing and at each of the polling sites set forth above on the same day of the Annual Meeting & Election. 6. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that candidates for the office of two (2) members of the Board of Education, for three-year terms, shall be nominated by petition and each petition must be directed to the School District Clerk and shall be signed by at least 25 qualified voters and shall state the legal residence of each signer and the name and residence of the candidate. Petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the office of the Clerk of the District between 9:00 o’clock a.m. and 5:00 o’clock p.m., prevailing time, and no later than 5:00 o’clock p.m. on April 20, 2026. 7. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that applications for absentee ballots and early mail voting for election of Board members and voting on propositions may be applied for at the office of the Clerk of the District. Such application must not be received by the District Clerk earlier than thirty (30) days before the vote. If the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, the completed application must be received by the Clerk of the District not later than 5:00 o’clock p.m. prevailing time, seven (7) days before the annual election. If the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter (or designee), the completed application must be received by the Clerk of the District no later than 5:00 o’clock p.m. prevailing time, one day before the Annual Meeting & Election. Qualified military voters may request a military absentee ballot application from the District Clerk between 9:00 o’clock a.m. and 5:00 o’clock p.m., prevailing time, or via email and may indicate their preference to receive a military absentee ballot application via mail, facsimile or electronic mail. Absentee ballots for military voters shall be administered in accordance with the provisions of Section 2018-d of the Education Law and Part 122 of the Commissioner’s Regulations. A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots, early mail voting, and military absentee ballots shall have been issued will be maintained in the District Clerk’s office and available for public inspection in the said office of the Clerk on each of the five (5) days prior to the day of the election except Sunday. 8. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 2014 of the Education Law, personal registration of voters is required, and no person shall be entitled to vote at said Annual Meeting & Election to be held May 19, 2026, whose name does not appear on the register of said School District as hereinafter provided, except a person who is otherwise qualified to vote and registered with the County Boards of Elections as qualified to vote at the general elections will be eligible to vote in the school election. The District shall prepare a register for said Annual Meeting & Election, which shall include all persons who shall have presented themselves personally for registration for any Annual Meeting & Election or Special School District Meeting and who shall have voted at any Annual or Special School District Meeting or Election held or conducted at any time during the 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 calendar years. Qualified voters of the Pine Bush Central School District may register at the office of the District Clerk of the Pine Bush Central School District, 156 Route 302, Pine Bush, New York 12566, on any school day between the hours of 9:00 o’clock a.m. and 5:00 o’clock p.m., up until May 7, 2026. Qualified voters can also register in any of the District school buildings during regular school hours up until such date. In addition, personal registration will be conducted on May 7, 2026 between the hours of 4:00 o’clock p.m. and 8:00 o’clock p.m. in the District Office. Further, any qualified voter can register with their respective County Board of Elections at any time prior to voting in a school election. A qualified military voter who is not currently registered can request a military personal registration form from the District Clerk between the hours of 9:00 o’clock a.m. and 5:00 o’clock p.m. Additionally, qualified military voters can contact the District Clerk to indicate their preference to receive a military personal registration form via mail, facsimile or electronic mail. 9. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the register of the School District will be filed in the office of the School District Clerk at the Administration Office of the Pine Bush Central School District, Route 302, Pine Bush, New York where the same will be open for inspection by any qualified voter of the District between the hours of 9:00 o’clock a.m. and 5:00 o’clock p.m., prevailing time, on each of the five (5) days prior to said Annual Meeting & Election, except Saturday, May 16, 2026, when the register will be available for inspection, by appointment, between the hours of 9:00 o’clock a.m. and 12:00 o’clock noon. The register will not be available for inspection on Sunday, May 17, 2026. 10. AND NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that members of the Board of Registration for each election district shall also meet on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, between the hours of 6:00 o’clock a.m. and 9:00 o’clock p.m. prevailing time, at the place herein above designated as the place in each election district where the Annual Meeting & Election will be held for the purpose of preparing a register of the School District for each election district for meetings or elections held subsequent to the Annual Meeting & Election.
