CONDENSED MINUTES
Regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Greenfield held at the Greenfield City Hall on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 7:01 p.m. Mayor Neitzke presiding; Ald. Drzewiecki, Bailey, Saryan, Akers present. Ald. Kastner excused.
The following actions taken by Council:
Approval of the December 16, 2025 Common Council minutes. Motion by Ald. Bailey, seconded by Ald. Akers.
Summons & Complaint re: Excessive Tax Assessment, Non-Uniform Tax Assessment and Declaratory Judgment received from Attorneys Strohbehn and Karnes of Mallery, S.C., on behalf of Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust. Reported to Atty. Seibel of Seibel Law Offices.
Adopt Resolution 5008 appointing additional election inspectors for 2026–2027. Motion by Ald. Saryan, seconded by Ald. Akers.
Approve applications for 2025-2026 operator licenses. Motion by Ald. Drzewiecki, seconded by Ald. Bailey.
Approve an application for 2025-2026 "Class A" Liquor - Cider Only Retailer's License for 4710 LLC, Vimal Kapila, Agent, for the property at 4710 S. 108th St. (Andy's On Hwy 100). Inventory placed in first floor walk in cooler, extra inventory in back room and displayed inside store, records also stored in back room, located at 4710 S. 108th St. Motion by Ald. Drzewiecki, seconded by Ald. Bailey.
Adopt Resolution 5009 Regarding Claims in Proposed Settlement of Class Action Lawsuit Against Discover Financial Services Relating to Overcharging of Processing Fees. Motion by Ald. Akers, seconded by Ald. Bailey.
Motion by Ald. Akers, seconded by Ald. Bailey to go into closed session at 7:11 p.m., pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes, Section 19.85(1)(f) and (1)(g). Specifically, this closed session will relate to the discussion of a specific personnel matter and a discussion with legal counsel regarding litigation strategy and advice. Considering financial, medical, social or personal histories or disciplinary data of specific persons, preliminary consideration of specific personnel problems or the investigation of charges against specific persons except where par. (b) applies which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations. Conferring with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved.
Motion by Ald. Akers, seconded by Ald. Drzewiecki to adjourn closed session and reconvene into open session at 8:21 p.m.
Decision regarding closed session items. No action taken.
