PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Gulf County Board of County Commissioners will hold readings and Public Hearings to consider adoption of the following Ordinances with the following titles:
1. AN ORDINANCE OF GULF COUNTY, FLORIDA; WHEREBY REPEALING AND REPLACING GULF COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE NUMBER 2021-06 AND HEREIN REPLACING BY ADOPTION OF "GULF COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE" WHEREBY PROVIDING FOR DEFINITIONS; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY AND ENFORCEMENT; PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION BY REFERENCE AND CODIFICATION: FLORIDA STATUTES RELATING TO ANIMAL CONTROL, ANIMAL WELFARE AND ANIMAL CRUELTY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT, REPEALER, SEVERABILITY AND MODIFICATIONS THAT MAY ARISE FROM CONSIDERATION AT PUBLIC HEARINGS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
2. AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE RESCISSION OF THE LEVY UNDER ORDINANCE 2009-06, GULF COUNTY, FLORIDA, RECISION OF ORDINANCE 2025-04, GULF COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND REASSESSMENT OF A SIX-CENT PER GALLON GASOLINE AND FUELS TAX, TO BE KNOWN AS THE "LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX"; FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND TERM; PROVIDING FOR DISTRIBUTION OF A PORTION OF PROCEEDS TO MUNICIPALITIES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR THE ORDINANCE
Public readings, introductions and Public Hearings will be held during the Gulf County Board of County Commissioner's Regular Meeting on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. (Eastern) to be held in the Donald H. Butler Commissioner Chamber and Meeting Room in the Robert M. Moore Administration Building, Gulf County Courthouse Complex, Port St. Joe, Florida. This meeting time and date were passed by unanimous authority by the Board of County Commissioners.
All interested persons may appear and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinances. If a person decides to appeal any decisions made by the Gulf County Commission with respect to any matter considered at this hearing, he/she will need a record of the proceedings and that for such purpose he/she may need to ensure a verbatim record of the proceedings made and which would include any evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
A copy of the proposed ordinances are available for inspection on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. est., and 5:00 p.m. est. at the Office of the Clerk of Court, Gulf County Courthouse, 1000 C.G. Costin, Sr., Blvd., Port St. Joe, Florida, 32456.
