NOTICE OF PASSAGE OF ORDINANCES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees of The Greater Peoria Sanitary and Sewage Disposal District, Peoria County, Illinois, at a regular meeting held on June 16, 2026, duly passed the following ordinances:
ORDINANCE NO. 673
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING CHARGES FOR THE DISCHARGE OF DOMESTIC WASTEWATER AND COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL WASTES TO THE WASTEWATER FACILITIES OF THE GREATER PEORIA SANITARY AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL DISTRICT, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF, AND REPEALING CERTAIN ORDINANCES THEREIN NAMED IN THE GREATER PEORIA SANITARY AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL DISTRICT OF PEORIA COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
Ordinance No. 673 establishes the District's system of user charges for domestic, commercial, and industrial users of the District's wastewater facilities, including charges for wastewater quantity, biochemical oxygen demand, suspended solids, and ammonia nitrogen; provides for industrial wastewater surcharges and capital improvement and replacement charges; governs billing, payment, delinquencies, and disconnection; establishes review and appeal procedures; and provides penalties for violations thereof. Ordinance No. 673 takes effect June 27, 2026, and repeals Ordinance No. 571 (passed June 15, 1993, as amended) and the ordinance establishing fees for returned payments (passed February 17, 2004).
ORDINANCE NO. 674
AN ORDINANCE ENACTING A GENERAL INDUSTRIAL PRETREATMENT PROGRAM, REGULATING THE USE OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SEWERS AND DRAINS, PRIVATE SEWAGE DISPOSAL, THE INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION OF BUILDING SEWERS, THE DISCHARGING OF WATERS AND WASTES INTO THE PUBLIC SEWER SYSTEM, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF, AND REPEALING CERTAIN ORDINANCES THEREIN NAMED, IN THE GREATER PEORIA SANITARY AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL DISTRICT OF PEORIA COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
Ordinance No. 674 enacts the District's general industrial pretreatment program; regulates conditions for use of the District's wastewater facilities; establishes requirements for wastewater haulers and hauler permits; governs the construction and connection of building sewers, including sewer license, bond, and license denial and appeal requirements; establishes wastewater discharge criteria and local discharge limits; governs wastewater discharge permits for industrial users; establishes monitoring, record keeping, and reporting requirements; and provides enforcement procedures and penalties. Ordinance No. 674 takes effect June 27, 2026, and repeals Ordinance No. 664 (passed June 17, 2025) and certain prior ordinances therein named.
