NOTICE OF BOARD OF EDUCATION VACANCY
Pueblo County School District 70
Pursuant to §22-31-129, C.R.S., the Board of Education of Pueblo County School District 70 is accepting applications from qualified individuals to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education representing Director District II.
The individual appointed will serve from the date of appointment in February 2026 through the next regular biennial school election in November 2027.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be:
• A registered elector of Pueblo County School District 70 for at least twelve (12) consecutive months prior to appointment;
• A resident of Director District II; and
• Able to successfully complete a background check.
Application Requirements
Interested candidates must submit:
• A letter of intent describing the reason for seeking appointment and the skills and attributes the applicant would bring to the Board;
• A résumé with references; and
• A letter of recommendation.
Application Deadline:
All application materials must be received by 4:00 p.m. on January 19, 2026.

Note: The district office will be closed for Christmas break from December 19, 2025, through January 5, 2026.
Selection Process
The Board of Education will publicly review and screen applications on January 27, 2026, conduct interviews on February 3, 2026, and is expected to make an appointment by board vote on February 10, 2026.
