LEGAL NOTICE
The following are summaries of ordinances and resolutions adopted by Canton City Council on Dec. 8, 2025. The complete text of the ordinances or resolutions may be obtained for 10 cents per page or viewed free at the office of the Clerk of Council in City Hall, 218 Cleve. Ave. S.W., Canton, Ohio 44702, during non holiday weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ordinance No. 235/2025
Canton City Council approves the editing, arrangement and numbering or renumbering of various ords. adopted from June 17, 2024 – September 15, 2025, to conform to the classification and numbering system of the Codified Ords. and recent enactments of the General Assembly. Adopted as an emergency.
Resolution No. 236/2025
The Law Director is authorized to: distribute, free of charge, copies of the September 2025 supplement to the Codified Ords. of Canton to public officials of this municipality and other governmental subdivisions, public institutions in Stark County and to City departments, who are copyholders of the Canton City Code; and to sell said Supplement for the sum of $11.70 to those copyholders who purchased the Code. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 237/2025
Ord. 9/2024 is amended to establish Ex. A as the Classification Plan for the Traffic Engineering Division’s Bargaining Unit Personnel employed by the city of Canton. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are repealed. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 238/2025
The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to accept an easement granted to the city of Canton, for the ownership, operation and maintenance of a sanitary sewer crossing at the Stark County Public Main Library site and to make ministerial changes to correct property owner names, parcel numbers and other numerical descriptive or typographical errors, should they occur. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 239/2025
Council authorizes the Cyber Security Program attached to the ordinance as approved by the Systems Planning Board. Council authorizes the Systems Planning Board to make updates to the Cyber Security Program as necessary. Adopted as an emergency.
