LEGAL NOTICE   Canton Local School District Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of a Resolution of the Board of Education of the Canton Local School District, Stark County, Ohio, passed on the 12th day of January, 2026, there will be submitted to a vote of the people at the Primary Election to be held at the regular places of voting on the 5th day of May, 2026, the following: “A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Canton Local School District for the purpose of current operating expenses at a rate not exceeding 8.9 mills and for the acquisition, construction, enlargement, renovation and financing of permanent improvements at a rate not exceeding 1.9 mills, that the county auditor estimates will collect $4,470,142 annually, at a combined rate not exceeding 10.8 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $180 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s market value, for 5 years, commencing in 2026, first due in calendar year 2027. The county auditor has certified that the amount by which the carry-over balance in the district’s general operating budget from the preceding fiscal year exceeds the district’s general fund expenditures made in the preceding fiscal year is $0, which is 0% of those expenditures.” The polls for the election will be open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. Canton time, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
