REQUEST FOR PREQUALIFICATION OF MAJOR EQUIPMENT SUPPLIERS – WASHOE HYDROELECTRIC POWERHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS

REQUEST FOR PREQUALIFICATION OF MAJOR EQUIPMENT SUPPLIERS – WASHOE HYDROELECTRIC POWERHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS for the Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA). RSCI is the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) hereby requesting that Major Equipment Suppliers submit statement of prequalification applications pursuant to NRS chapter 338.16991 for the above project. TMWA currently operates three (3) hydro-generation plants on the Truckee River, one of which is the Washoe Hydroelectric Facility. The original Powerhouse was constructed in 1904 and houses two (2) horizontal double runner Francis Turbines. The facility has reached the end of its useful life due to turbine casing thickness deterioration and leakage. The purpose of this project is to construct a new Powerhouse with modern Hydroelectric Power Generation Equipment. The project includes new Turbines and Generators, along with the associated Controls and SCADA, and new Isolation Valves. Major Equipment Suppliers will be responsible to provide preconstruction services including but not limited to, early design assistance, participation in regular design meetings, and early development of a complete submittal package with all necessary engineering. Upon approval of the design and full approval and funding of the project, then equipment orders will be released to proceed with fabrication and delivery, subject to funding approval and award of CMAR Construction Services. After the equipment is installed, Suppliers will be responsible for startup, participation in commissioning, along with any corresponding performance testing and issuance of warranties. Special Federal Conditions will apply in order for this project to be eligible for Federal Tax Credits.
